Perfect Wines
for Your Holiday Feast

by Fred McMillin

Wine Gift

No matter how good the wine, usually at least 15% of my class doesn't like it: too intense, too much oak, etc. We rarely find a wine that is liked by EVERYONE—which is a perfect wine for a party, since very likely ALL of your guests will appreciate it.

Here are some bottles we think your guests might like.

  • Chardonnay, Dry Creek Vineyards, Russian River Valley, 2007, $20
  • Pinot Gris, Kenwood Vineyards, Sonoma County, 2008, $15
  • Riesling, Firestone Vineyards, Central Coast, 2007, $15
  • Vouvray (Chenin Blanc), George Meurgey (Boisset), France/ Loire, 2007, $8

And a Final Wine Smile

Harvest Humor

While blessing the freshly-picked grapes, the man of the cloth was asked also to appeal for no rain. He replied, "Sorry, I'm in SALES, not OPERATIONS."
