Healthy Dieting the BCM Way

Introduction

diet If you seriously want to lose weight and are ready to commit yourself to a new food and eating regime—please consider the BCM diet. BCM stands for Body Cell Mass. There can be few people today, in what are referred to as the western developed countries, who don't understand the importance of not becoming over-weight. Being over-weight, or worse obese, can lead to many serious medical conditions so we all owe it to ourselves to control our weight. For some people turning to diet pills might provide them with an initial rapid weight less, other people try the latest diet fads and some just try to exercise their way to losing weight. Apart from adding to your health risks by taking diet pills, using any of those techniques will not work in the long-term. Put simply people 'fall off the wagon', having lost a few pounds there's always an excuse to—have that cream cake, have fries with a snack or not eat those all important 5 vegetables and fruit a day. Quite simply what people forget is that they need to retrain their minds to dieting and understand that they are making a lifetime commitment to a new diet and way of life, not just for a couple of months leading up to their vacation a special occassion. What is the BCM diet? Read any literature about weight loss and dieting and, in essence, it will invariably advise you to eat healthily, drink sensibly and exercise more. Without getting into what will constitute healthy eating, drinking sensibly or what might be a recommended exercise routine; there's one vital thing that's all too often omitted from that list—changing you mindset about your food, eating and your exercise regime. Used correctly and with the correct mindset BCM diet products will help you to lose weight—they are especially formulated to provide the correct balance of carbohydrates, protein and fat for you and work according to a four stage plan; based on three meals a day and no snacking. You begin by taking only a BCM diet product for a couple of days to start your dieting procedure, which accustoms you to taking the BCM diet products and prepares your body for the reduction phase. The reduction phase is Phase 1 of the diet program, during which you use two BCM diet products in place of your normal meals; when used as instructed they are formulated to help your body to metabolize fat or burn fat, if you prefer. Phase 2 is called the integration phase, here you're encouraged to prepare two of your own healthy meals and only need one BCM product a day. Then finally you can move on to Phase 3—the adoption phase. Now you're encouraged to eat three 'normal' healthy meals a day; but the significant factor here is—by following the BCM diet you've learned a whole new way of healthy eating, based on healthy foods. Phases 1 and 2 take around 15 weeks, at the end of which you'll know exactly how much weight you've lost. Phase 3 is typically takes around ten weeks; during which you need to establish what you'll regularly have for your three healthy meals a day. If you maintain your weight loss in Phase 3 you could then return to the BCM diet at a later date, if and when you needed it. Alternatively, if you find it difficult to maintain your weight loss you can return to phase 1 or 2 of the BCM diet. Changing your mind to lose weight Correctly used BCM diet products will help you to lose weight. However, how many of us have been on diets before only to go back to eating our favorite comfort food, or eating a lot of savory things with high fat and salt contents etc, piling the pounds back on in no time at all. Going on a diet is only the start of successfully losing weight; to keep the weight off we have to change our mindset to a new food and eating regime. BCM diet products can be combined with dieting counseling support programs to help you, in effect—retrain your brain about what you eat, how much you eat and even for some people why they eat. For example, unless you do have a medical condition, there is absolutely no reason why you can't retrain your brain to think "I need a snack—I'll have some fruit" rather than "I need a snack—I'll have a cake". We all know which is the better one for us—but some people will refuse to even think that the fruit could satisfy them. BCM and BIA BCM diet products are designed to maintain your BCM whilst you lose weight by burning fat. BIA is Bio-Impedance analysis; as well as working with your eating mindset using BIA measurements medical professionals, dieticians and counselors can work with you on your diet to ensure that body fat is lost, but not at the expense of your overall BCM. (NB. BIA is a very simple and non-invasive procedure.)
