Starry Sky Eggs

Stars sparkle against a blue backdrop on these pretty eggs. Look for star-shaped stickers in art or office supply stores. Purchase small stickers in other interesting shapes, such as tiny flowers, hearts, or geometric shapes, and use this same technique to create different looks.

For each starry sky egg you will need:

1 egg, hardboiled or blown
12 small star-shaped stickers
Blue egg dye or paste food coloring
Distilled white vinegar
Hot water
Small paintbrush
Craft glue
Clear or silver glitter

Affix the star-shaped stickers to the egg. Mix the dye with vinegar and hot water, according the instructions on the egg dye package or to the paste food coloring instructions included in this book. Double or triple the amount of dye for a deeper shade of blue. Dye the egg, following the instructions on the dye package, and allow to dry thoroughly.

Remove and discard the star-shaped stickers. Carefully paint each white star with craft glue and sprinkle with the glitter. Allow to dry.
