Makes about 2 cups for 8 servings
Choose blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, or other similar berries to make this simple sauce served with Panna Cotta. It is also delicious heated and served with pancakes.
4 cups seasonal berries
2 to 3 tablespoons sugar, or to taste
1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
or berry-flavored liqueur,
or to taste
In a food processor or blender, purée the berries. Pour through a fine-mesh strainer into a bowl to remove seeds, if desired. Add the sugar and lemon juice or liqueur to taste and mix well.
Serve immediately, or cover and refrigerate for up to 3 days.
