About the Author

Georgeanne Brennan is a food and garden writer who divides her time between her small farm in Northern California and her home in Provence. Her features appear regularly in the San Francisco Chronicle, and she contributes to numerous publications including Bon Appétit, Metropolitan Home, and Garden Design. Her previous books include Potager: Fresh Garden Cooking in the French Style and The Glass Pantry: Preserving Seasonal Flavors, as well as several books in the Garden Style series, including Little Herb Gardens and Easy Roses, all published by Chronicle Books.

John Vaughan (1953-1995) was a highly accomplished photographer of interiors, architecture, people, and food whose work has appeared in many magazines, including Architectural Digest. He was also the photographer for Bradley Ogden's Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner, Wolfgang Puck's Adventures in the Kitchen, and Barbara Tropp's China Moon. His other books include San Francisco: A Certain Style, California Country: Design, Architecture, and Style, and Potager: Fresh Garden Cooking in the French Style, all published by Chronicle Books. His untimely death is a great loss to those who worked with him and enjoyed his artistry.
