1E Before: The east wall of the old dining room sported a slate wall and wood-burning stove.

9E After: The same wall, now with a 5-foot wide window, shot from the porch room at a slightly different angle. The door at the end of the peninsula leads to the Global Gourmet offices. A gas cooktop at the end of the peninsula allows for easy and more social entertaining. This custom peninsula, made of Swanstone solid surface material, has become the hub of the whole house.     Note: The countertop color may not be accurately reflected on computer screens. Called "Tahiti Evergreen" it's actually quite subtle, somewhere between celadon, wintergreen and aquamarine hues. If it looks like a strong blue or green on your monitor, it's actually much more subdued.
