This makes 4 waffles in my machine.
You'll probably want to start the morning with good coffee. As soon as your wits are about you, you can slide into waffles and champagne cocktails.
The usual complaint about waffles is that you can only make one at a time, which makes them hard to serve to a crowd. But this is Valentine's morning and you've just found out how good it feels to share. So cut each waffle in half as soon as it's done and eat it hot while the next one cooks.
2 eggs
3/4 cup milk
2 tablespoons oil or melted butter
3/4 cup all purpose flour
1/3 cup buckwheat or rye flour
1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1) Whisk the eggs until they are frothy.
2) Mix in the milk and oil.
3) Measure the dry ingredients into the bowl and whisk until smooth.
4) Cook.
5) Serve with soft butter and warm maple syrup, though if you can find something like a plum syrup, this is the time to use it.
