Winery Notes:
The story of Signorello Vineyards began when Raymond Signorello Sr. fell in love with a piece of ground in the Napa Valley. In 1977 he bought the 100 acres where now not only several vineyards are planted, but where a fully operating winery produces some 8,000 cases of wine annually. The first vineyard was planted in 1980 and grapes went to Cuvaison, Caymus and Cakebread wineries. Since then, grapes have continued to be sold to others such as William Hill, Silverado and Franciscan.
In 1985, Signorello released its first wine, an Estate Bottled Chardonnay. Ray is thoroughly committed to winemaking and grape growing and remains key salesman, while Ray Jr. manages the winery and vineyard operations, working closely with winemaker Steve Devitt.
The winery can be counted on for truly fine releases.
